Midnight by L.J. Smith
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
oh my word, im so happy i finally finished this.
well i am just super glad that "The Return" sub-series is now over and done with but the annoying thing is the cliff-hanger that they leave you with at the end. there are so many loose threads in this book that you already know that they will pick up the threads and carry on again.
I just get so frustrated as to how weak and pathetic Bonnie is, how selfishly unselfish Elena is.
This is purely for the die-hard fans that dont mind silly twists in the story line. Everyone is expecting Midnight to be someone, a new character but it isnt...
never been happier to finish this so i can read a better book. Sorry LJ Smith, you are a great writer but you should have left it at the 4 books for Vampire Diaries. Forget this series and work on the last book for Nightworld.

Review: Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel
Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel
Rating: 4/5
Date Read: 17 March 2011
Date Finished: 24 March 2011
BlurbLenah Beaudonte is, in many ways, your average teen: the new girl at Wickham Boarding School, she struggles to fit in enough to survive and stand out enough to catch the eye of the golden-boy lacrosse captain. But Lenah also just happens to be a recovering five-hundred-year-old vampire queen. After centuries of terrorizing Europe, Lenah is able to realize the dream all vampires have -- to be human again. After performing a dangerous ritual to restore her humanity, Lenah entered a century-long hibernation, leaving behind the wicked coven she ruled over and the eternal love who has helped grant her deep-seated wish.
Until, that is, Lenah draws her first natural breath in centuries at Wickham and rediscovers a human life that bears little resemblance to the one she had known. As if suddenly becoming a teenager weren’t stressful enough, each passing hour brings Lenah closer to the moment when her abandoned coven will open the crypt where she should be sleeping and find her gone. As her borrowed days slip by, Lenah resolves to live her newfound life as fully as she can. But, to do so, she must answer ominous questions: Can an ex-vampire survive in an alien time and place? What can Lenah do to protect her new friends from the bloodthirsty menace about to descend upon them? And how is she ever going to pass her biology midterm
Review
This was an interesting book, its about a Vampire called Lenah Beaudonte and her life story about how she became a vampire and then lived it to the point of insanity and then wanted nothing more than to become human to be able to live her life that she felt cheated of at 16 when she was turned.Rhode, her maker and first vampire love sets plans in motion to help Lenah because he loves her so much that he would do anything for her. Rhode makes the ultimate sacrifice for Lenah.
It was fun so see our world with all its technology through the eyes of someone new. Lenah learns what its like to be human again, to make a friend - Tony, be teased and disliked (the 3 piece) and to really and truely love (Justin). But her world comes crashing down when her old coven headed by Vicken go on the hunt for her.
I rather enjoyed it, but the constant flash backs had me confused every now and then. Rebecca Maizel really put alot of thought and creativity to make her characters more than just two dimensional, she gave them history and depth.

Blue Bloods - Melissa De La Cruz
I have recently started reading Melissa de la Cruz's Blue Bloods Series. I have been reading them back to back as I have found that the books are an easy read, full of intrigue and romance. I love how the author has combined vampires & fallen angels, historical events and current places seamlessly. This is a great read for young adults and for those who are venturing into the world of Vampires. I am currently finishing The Van Alen Legacy which will follow with Misguided Angels. Keys to the Repository is a background book for all the characters and Bloody Valentine is a novella that has a few stories in it that will give you some insight to what has been happening with some of our favourite characters.
Happy reading everyone! I give this series 5 stars!
